YUBIBO

Haptic Communication Game

2019

Concept

YUBIBO is a simple haptic game where players cooperate to support a stick with their fingers. It grew out of an interest in haptic sign language — the tactile way of communicating used by deaf-blind people.

Like a hug or a handshake, the act of touching carries a lot of information at once and brings hearts closer together. That kind of communication isn't limited to deaf-blind people. By sharing the sense of touch, this is also a way of shortening the distance between everyone.
